#SixSunday - A Familiar Voice

Happy Sunday Sixers! Thanks for stopping by! I always appreciate the comments and encouragement. I look forward to hopping around to other blogs and reading what other talented authors have shared!

I'm continuing with my YA Paranormal book, ONCE AND FOR ALL, the sequel to ONCE AGAIN, which is now available (links to the right), and was reviewed recently at Night Owl Reviews! ONCE AND FOR ALL follows Phoebe Campbell and Todd Miller as they encounter their own reincarnation mystery.

Last week Phoebe witnessed Todd  and his friends having a conversation in which the friends revealed that Todd has been dumped into art class because weight-lifting was full, and insulted Phoebe in the process. She was a bit hurt, but not surprised, because such behavior wasn’t really out of character for Todd… at least the Todd she’d known before. Today we see her immediately following that unfortunate exchange, sitting in art class, brooding a bit about what she’d seen and heard. As Miss Stockton, the art teacher and Phoebe’s mentor strolls the classroom, Phoebe gets an up close look at the long necklace Miss Stockton always wears. As she gazes at the red stone surrounded by filigreed strands of gold, she hears the same voice she’d heard in her dream the previous night. (Read about the dream here.)

The words sang in my mind, uninvited.  I hadn’t thought them.  I had no idea where they’d come from, but I knew the voice that spoke them.  It was the same voice from my dream, lyrical and smooth, and yet filled with a pain so deep I felt it in my own heart, so intense I felt on the verge of crying.
Slamming my eyes shut, I rubbed my temples.  I swear, I could not handle anything else crazy happening to me.

  1. Poor Phoebe, it sounds like everything's getting a bit much for her! But then, I think anyone would be the same in her situation. Great six!
