Once again, I'm posting from my current YA work-in-progress, "Dusk". In this snippet, we pick up shortly after where we left of last week. Zoe has unloaded all her family baggage on Adrian, who suggested a motorcycle ride afterward. Here they are winding down their time together, and Zoe is still a bit confused by Adrian's attention. He's a pretty hot guy, and has grabbed the attention of the most elite girls at school, and Zoe can't exactly figure out why he's paying so much attention to her. Fortunately, Adrian quiets her uneasiness in the following excerpt.
"I can't claim to understand how you feel," he said, squeezing my hands. "And I won't always have the answers. But I can listen. And I can care. All the time."
Staring up at him, I could not find the words to express the feelings bubbling inside.
