Six Sentence Sunday: Changing History

Welcome back to another edition of Six Sentence Sunday, where lots of great authors share six sentences of their work for the people of the blogosphere to enjoy!  Thanks to everyone who has visited my past Six Sunday posts and kindly left comments.  I enjoy reading your posts as well!

Today's six sentences are from the final scene of my completed YA manuscript, "You Again".  At this point, the evil forces from the past have been defeated... once and for all.  Lucas and Layla return to the beach where there lives were once destroyed, with the goal of making new memories.

“Does it feel weird being back here?” Luke asked, reaching for my hand and lacing our gloved fingers together as we walked toward the rocks.
I shook my head.  “It feels nice, like we’ve changed the history of this place.  Maybe we haven’t erased the bad stuff, but we’ve covered it up with good things.”
            He smiled.  “Yeah.  I agree.”

A listing of Six Sentence Sunday blogs can be found each week here. The list of participants goes live each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time. You can also follow posts on Twitter at #sixsunday.

  4. Very sweet six. Though I am usually all for evil, I like when it is defeated too.

  5. Aaaah, so sweet. Over the weeks you've posted from this, I can't say enough how much it sounds so dead-on adolescents. You really do have a YA voice going.
