Quotable Discussions: J.R. Ward

"The worst day writing is better than the best day doing anything else."

I've heard the NYT Bestseller say this more than once. Knowing how hard she works at her writing, and how serious she takes her art, I know it must be true.

Writing well isn't easy. It's hard work. But for those of us who write, it's work that we love. Work that fulfills us. Work that we look forward to. Many of us make time for this work that we love amid a host of other responsibilities... full-time jobs, raising children, caring for family members, etc. In the busiest times, we may ask ourselves, "Why bother with this when so much else is vying for my time?"

The answer for me is simple: Because I love the writing.

It'll always be a part of my life.
