It's been a few weeks, but I'm finally back with a new FRIDAY 56!
Here's the gist:
1. Grab the book nearest you right now.
2. Turn to page 56
3. Post a sentence (or a few) along with these instructions.
4. Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest book, the most intellectual. Use the closest!
5. No Spoilers!
6. If you host your own FRIDAY 56, be sure to leave a comment so I can stop by your blog! If you don't have a blog, you can leave it in the comments section here.
Today's FRIDAY 56 comes from "Happy Ever After" by Nora Roberts. It's the final book in the "Bridal Quartet", a series of books about four best friends who own a wedding business. Mackensie is a photographer. Emma is a florist. Laurel is a pastry chef. And Parker is the "business-brain". The four books take us through each woman's journey to her very own happily-ever-after! If you like feel-good books with deep, rich characters, I highly recommend this series. The book titles are as follows (in order): "Vision in White", "Bed of Roses", "Savor the Moment", and "Happy Ever After".
From Page 56:
"What? Do you think I'm keeping that to myself?" She grinned as both Mac and Emma demanded details.
"Malcolm Kavanaugh, in the foyer, with a hot embrace."
"Well, well." Mac wiggled her eyebrows.
"There's no 'well-well' about it." Wanting to move on, Parker pulled out her casually dismissive tone. "He was just showing off."
