Kouzzina by Cat Cora



Taking a break from talking about writing and all the great things I learned at RWA National Conference, I thought I'd share some pictures from a great dinner Glenda and I enjoyed while in Orlando.

Disney's Boardwalk was just a short stroll from the conference hotel, so on Thursday night, Glenda and I decided to head that direction in search of dinner. We were really glad we did. We ended up at Kouzzina by Cat Cora. If you've watched The Food Network, you probably recognize Cat Cora as one of the Iron Chefs. Kouzzina features Mediterranean specialties.




We started with the fried calamari appetizer. Best calamari I've ever had, hands down. It was soaked in buttermilk first, which made it very tender, and it was served with two dipping sauces - garlic yogurt and spicy yogurt.




My entree was the "Fisherman's Stew". It was shrimp, scallops, swordfish, mussels, and clams, stewed in a thick tomato broth with fennel and red pepper flakes, and served with grilled bread to soak up all the yummy goodness. And yeah... it TOTALLY ROCKED!



Glenda's entree was a Greek-style lasagna called Pastitsio, with cinnamon-stewed meat sauce, b├ęchamel, and Bucatini pasta. It was woodsy and rich... comfort food at it's best!


And then there was dessert. We were stuffed, but who can resist dessert? We ordered the Chocolate Boudino Cake to split... warm, molten chocolate served with whipped cream. Sound good? Yep... completely decadent and delicious! Just take a look at these pictures!
