Friday 56 - OLD MAGIC by Marianne Curley

Here's the gist:

* Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
* Turn to page 56.
* Post any sentence from that page (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog. (If you do not have your own blog, post it in the comments section of this blog.) Be sure and let me know with a comment if you've put the Friday 56 on your blog, so I can stop by and comment!
* Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

Today's Friday 56 comes from a recent Young Adult book I enjoyed, Old Magic by Marianne Curley. It's the story of Kate and Jarrod, and their quest to break a centuries old curse. The first-person POV changes from chapter to chapter, with the POV character's name indicated as the chapter's title. It's quite an imaginative book!

"I shake my head and look around. No one. Yet I swear it's Kate's voice. Goose bumps crack the surface of my skin. I must be losing it. It can't have been her. It has to be my subconscious. That's all."
